Testimonials

Sheila Parnell was a godsend for our family.  We had been through the college process before and had hired a nationally renowned college counselor to work with our eldest child.  Because our second wasn’t as studious and had no Ivy League colleges on her wish list, we thought we would be qualified to provide her the support that she needed.  In the fall of her senior year, we found that she needed help with so many aspects of her message, and when we attempted to give her advice, we felt like she wasn’t listening.  She was making little progress and deadlines were fast approaching.  It was at that point that I contacted Sheila. I was amazed at how she connected with my young adult.  Sheila had a road map that was digestible and made the tasks in front of my daughter seem more manageable.  The individual attention, focus, and quality of information that we received from Sheila was frankly better than the nationally renowned counselor that we hired for my elder child.

I had spent hours on my own brainstorming and trying to write my personal statement essay before meeting with Sheila. She helped me to decipher all my ramblings and snippets into an essay that was unique and authentically me. Thank you so much Sheila!

I was so overwhelmed before I met with Sheila. She helped me to figure out what colleges on my massive list were actually going to be right for me. Sheila is the best! She broke the whole process down for me into small steps and helped ease all the anxiety surrounding college apps

I had no idea what I was going to write my essay about. Sheila helped me to come up with a topic that I was excited to write about. My essay is one of the best, most authentic thing I have written. Thanks to Sheila, I am starting college at my number one choice this fall.

We still can’t believe that our son was accepted at all of his top choices! From long conversations with our son to your advice at key moments during this process, your dedication shined through. We are thrilled by his merit scholarship offers and appreciate you advising us on college options that would be affordable for us and where he can’t wait to start.

Sheila was great despite my unique situation and need for additional support. Through her encouragement, I discovered my love for conducting research and plan to continue to do so in college. Sheila made me feel comfortable talking about my learning disabilities and really cared about finding colleges that would support my accommodations.

Before I worked with Sheila, I struggled to get pen to paper and write a strong personal statement. Now, my personal statement is one of my strongest pieces of writing and helped me to get into my dream school.

Sheila brought out the best in my daughter! Her excellent guidance and encouragement helped my daughter gain admission to her top-choice college. Throughout the entire process, Sheila provided clarity and broke down applying to colleges into manageable chunks that fit into my daughter's busy academic and athletic packed schedule. Sheila’s incredible work with my daughter helped to ease my stress going through this process with my first child. I will definitely be going back to Sheila when my son starts to apply.

Sheila was incredibly dedicated to helping me throughout the process. From the introductory process, she put her whole energy into getting to know me, listening to me and my unique needs and then came up with a list of colleges that would be right for me. I can whole heartedly recommend her to any stressed student. Before I first worked with her, I was completely overwhelmed by the college process. She helped me to “swim” instead of “drown” in the college application process. With her support and guidance, I felt much less stress than I had while working on my own. Sheila helped me to craft a strong application. Her insights and knowledge were incredibly valuable whenever I needed to make a decision. Her timely edits and constructive feedback on my essays were invaluable and helped me to feel confident in my work. Working with Sheila made my whole application stronger and made life better for me.

If I have one regret, it is that I didn’t hire Sheila when my daughter was in her sophomore year.  I think my daughter would have really benefited from Sheila’s sage life advice that she could have taken to heart earlier.  We have provided my daughter with so much advice over the years, but it starts to fall on deaf ears.  I see the way she responded to Sheila, and I think it would have made a world of difference in the experiences my daughter could have had and the choices she made during high school.

While my friends struggled to deal with the stress of senior year classes and college apps, I was already ahead thanks to Sheila’s planning. Despite taking multiple APs and playing sports, I was able to finish all my applications long before the deadlines. Thank you so much Sheila for helping me achieve my dreams!
